Christmas Tag

I have seen this tag floating around the blogsphere the past few days and as I was stuck to do posts I thought I would do this one. I haven't been tagged to do this but as it is Christmas Eve I thought 'Why Not?' So shall we get started?

What is your favourite Christmas Film?
Honestly, the Santa Clause movies are beyond perfect. It's not Christmas until I see those movies or the Home Alone movies.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yes a few times! I still remember my first white Christmas.

Where do you usually spend Christmas?
Nearly every year, bar one, we spend in Dublin with the whole family. We're in Dublin again this year and staying with my Nan and Granddad.

What is your favourite Christmas song?
I made a Top 10 playlist here but All I Want For Christmas is the only Christmas Song that gets me pumped!

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
YES! We do a hunt around the house to find them and it's so exciting.

Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's?
I know them all! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen and of course Rudolph! I only know them from reading The Night Before Christmas religiously.

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Our Christmas hunt tonight and reading The Night Before Christmas.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake :( I'd love a real one!

What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?
The brussel sprouts or however you spell it! I love the tin of Roses and Celebrations as well though.

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Receiving gifts is always nice but watching someones reaction when you give them a gift they really love is beyond the best feeling ever.

What is the best Christmas gift you've ever received?
Every gift I have received has always been on point. I've never gotten a gift I never liked.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
No doubt, New York.

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I fail miserably. I shouldn't be aloud near wrapping paper for any occasion.

Most memorable holiday moment?
My first white Christmas because I was six and I had never seen snow before apart from on TV. But every Christmas is always memorable.

Do you make New Years Resolutions? And do you stick to them?
Yes but I never stick to them :(

What makes the holiday special for you?
Being with my family and sitting around playing board games for sure.

That is it.

Makeup Tutorial: Taylor Swift Blank Space

First off, lets just take a moment of appreciation for Miss Swifts new song. I am in love. But more importantly lets appreciate the eye makeup in the video. As Makeup Tutorials are shaping up to be my most popular posts I thought I would do a tutorial on Swifts eye makeup.
Lets GO!

Step 1: Apply an eye primer and apply sellotape along the corner of your eye. The sellotape allows for the nice sharp line we want for this look.

Step 2: Apply a white eyeshadow as a base. Then with a small eyeshadow brush similar to the one pictured above, apply a navy colour along the line of the sellotape and work halfway into the crease and halfway into the lash line. ALWAYS BLEND! Apply as much as you like and as dark as you want but constantly blend.

Step 3: Using a small angled brush and black eyeshadow, begin to draw a thinner black like and fill your lash line also.

Step 5: Apply the black eyeshadow halfway along your waterline with the same angled brush. Fill the rest of your water line with a light blue colour and you are done with the eye. Don't forget to remove the sellotape.

Finished Look
Add some foundation, contour and fill in your brows. Dont forget to add Taylors signature red lip and you are finished. And yes I am in my dressing gown, it's Sunday!

Here is the video I got this look from:

Christmas Playlist

It is that time of the year. People are stocking up on the veg and turkey and preparing themselves for the jolly man himself to arrive down the chimney.
Without a doubt Christmas is my favourite time of the year because the music is on point.
So to start off the festivities, lets see what I am listening right now!

  1. Mariah Carey- All I Want For Christmas Is You
  2. Lady Antebellum- Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
  3. Wham!- Last Christmas
  4. Wizard- I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday
  5. Slade- Merry Xmas Everybody
  6. Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé- Baby It's Cold Outside
  7. Justin Bieber- The Christmas Song(Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
  8. The Pouges Featuring Kirsty MacColl- Fairytale Of New York
  9. Ariana Grande- Santa Tell Me
  10. Chris Rea- Driving Home For Christmas
What are you listening this time of the year?
See you all on Friday

The Winter Drobe

Ah yes, winter. The time of the year where wearing big knitted jumpers, scarves and boots is totally acceptable. Without a doubt winter is my favourite time of the year because cuddling up in a warm knitted jumper with an eggnog latte from Starbucks in your hand is très magnifique. Let me take you through some of my favourite winter outfits.

This outfit screams winter with the dark colours, the scarf, hat and lets not forget about those boots! If you're running out for a coffee or heading out for last minute Christmas shopping, this outfit is perfect. Don't forget to add a tote bag because an outfit this chic is not complete without a tote bag.

This outfit is casual but I love it. Leggings are so comfortable in the winter, especially if you get caught in the rain they aren't heavy like jeans. Leggings are also so versatile and when they are paired up with a charcoal jumper, a pair of boots, a tote bag and that all important latte your outfit will be on point! Also, pair this look up with a nice cream beanie and a matching scarf. It is winter after all!

If your look is a bit more edgy, like myself, this look is perfect for you. Add a pair of ripped, washed denim jeans and a big comfy jumper and Timberlands and you have the perfect look thrown together! Add a tote bag, if you wish.

There is some of the winter looks I am loving this year!
Until Monday

New Band Alert! Kingsland Road.

L-R Connor, Josh, Matt, Thompson and Jamie.
Who remember these cheeky chaps from The X Factor (UK) 2013? Well if you don't remember them, or you are completely oblivious as to who they are let me give you a run down.
Kingsland Road (originally Kingsland) are an English boy band formed in 2012. The band was originally made up of Matt Cahill, Joe "Connor" Conaboy, JJ Thompson, Jamie Scott and Josh Zaré. They finished in ninth place on the 10th of The X Factor in 2013.

Kingsland Road's debut album is scheduled for release in January 2015. Their debut single "Dirty Dancer" was released on 10 August 2014 and debuted at number 85 on the UK Singles Chart.
On 7 October 2014, it was announced that Kingsland Road had signed a record deal in the United States.
On 22 October 2014 the band announced via their internet site that Jamie Scott had quit because "the boy band life isn't really for him". The band was left with Matt, Connor, Thompson and Josh.

Lets talk about the remaining boys:

Wait On Me Music Video

Oh yes, new band on the scene Rixton recently released their brand new single and video Wait On Me. This is their second single following their number 1 hit Me and My Broken Heart. With the 20's silent movie twist on their music video and not forgetting the catchy tune, its not difficult to say these boys are soon to make it big
In the video we see the Rixton boys enter a posh mansion and no doubt the first girl in the video has a thing for lead man Jake. Obviously her husband is oblivious to this until his security man points it out.
The old fashion twist on the video really has an impact and for once you understand the story behind a music video thanks to the Silent Movie theme.
Check it out for yourself:

Bethany Mota: Is There Anything She Can't Do?

Bethany Mota is definitely one of the biggest teen stars to explode from YouTube. But if Bethany's stuff doesn't appeal to you or you've never heard of her let me give a little profile.
Name: Bethany Noel Mota
Date Of Birth: November 7 1995 (Yes she's only 19)
Where is she from? Los Banos, California, U.S
When did she start YouTube? 2009
What does she do?
Lets stop there because Bethany seems to have an endless array of talents. Bethany does makeup/hair tutorials, she can cook, she does DIY, she's a designer, and now we know she can sing and dance. Is there anything she can't do? Mondays post was about Bethany's new song Need You Right Now. We all knew Bethany was good at hair/makeup, cooking and DIY from her collection of videos on YouTube but up until recently Bethany kept it her little secret that she can also sing and dance.
If you are from America or are just infatuated with Bethany like me you would know she is currently on Dancing With The Stars.
Have a look at her fourth week where she got 40/40:
She kept that talent a secret!

Honestly there is very few Youtubers I enjoy watching these days because I feel the fame has changed them, but not Bethany. Bethany Mota is still the fun, lovable, squeezable person she was when I found her and she doesn't mind filming in her pyjamas! Bethany started youtubing when she was 14 and look where she is is now! She has her own song, she's dancing along side Derek Hough (who wouldn't love that) and she has her own clothing line with Aeropostal.
If there is one girl you want your daughter to look up to it is definitely Bethany.
Do you like Bethany Mota? Have you heard of her before?

Bethany Mota: Need You Right Now

Bethany Mota who is best known from her YouTube 'MacBarbie07' and her clothing line with Aeropostal has released a single!
Bethany who only just turned 19 uploaded the lyric video for her single need You Right Now featuring Mike Tomkins on October 13 2014 but what do I think?

Flicking through the comments on the video it has got quite a mixed review, even from Bethany's fans. A lot of people are complaining because she hasn't uploaded a video in a while, she's not the same etc.
My Opinion?
The real thing people should be focusing on is the music, sure Bethany hasn't uploaded but people don't realise how time consuming it must be to video. You have to sit in front of the camera for an hour or so and then edit for how long afterwards?! And don't forget she's on Dancing With The Stars!
Anyway lets not focus on that, lets focus on the music. I myself didn't know Bethany could sing and when I was told about her single I was shocked. But the song is catchy and I can't stop listening to it. Personally I don't feel the song showcases Bethany's talent but I don't think this will be the only song from Bethany.

What do you think of the song?

Autumn Makeup: Dark Lip/Gold Eye

There is no doubt that Autumn has arrived and as I look out the window, the dark gloomy weather makes you want to snuggle in front of the fire with a hot chocolate and a Christmas Movie, I mean a good movie.
I love Autumn/Winter because the knitted jumpers are back in and so is the dark lips and dark eyes.
Without a doubt, I am a big fan of a gold eye and for Blue Eyes this look really does work wonders to make your eyes pop!
Since the last time I done a makeup tutorial I have moved on from the same old products and ventured into the world of trying new things. For this post I will talk you through how I achieved this look and give a small review on my new products.
First things first, applying your foundation and concealer but I don't need to explain that I think we all know how to do this. About a month ago I started using the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation and since then I've had a few comments about how nice it looks and not forgetting it lasts the whole day. Also I recently gave into the hype and bought the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and I am in love! It covers blemishes and under eye bags and it lasts. And as you can see I still have the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and I still love it.

For the Gold Eye, I use the gold eyeshadow from the Elf Baked Eyeshadow Palette (in California). I love the Gold from this palette because it is so easy to apply and it stays on for the day without even using primer. I apply the colour on my eyelid and below my waterline. I then apply a few coats of Mascara using the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara.

Then add a nice dark lipstick. The one on the left is the Sleek Eau La La Liner in Raisin and the one on the right is the Rimmel Provocalips in Kiss Me You Fool and then the look is finished.

Ed Sheeran: Best Night Of My Life

Just over a month ago me and my friends, Sarah and Celine ventured to Dublin to see Ed Sheeran. As you can tell by the title it was the best night of my life.

My Outfit:

It was quite an early start (cheers mum for getting up and driving us) 6am to be exact. We picked the girls up and we were on the road by 7am.
We got to Dublin and done a lot of shopping but ya'll don't want to hear about that.

The Concert
My Makeup:

Ed Sheeran, in my opinion, has a solid voice. It's one of those voices you can identify just from listening to it. But for one man with a guitar, a mic and a loop pedal he sure as hell knows how to put on a concert. I cannot praise Ed Sheeran for his rare talent. He seems so down to earth and c'mon he goes out on stage in jeans!
I've been to quite a few concerts before but not one where one guy can get everyone (apart from the grumpy git beside Cee) to stand up and sing their hearts out.
By far the best concert I have ever been to!
Have you seen Ed live?

Halloween Make-up: Skeleton

Without a doubt Halloween has to be a makeup lovers all time favourite time of year. Between experimenting with different scary looks and vamping up your whole look a little, it is definitely my favourite time of year.
So whether you are heading out trick or treating or going to a party tonight, here is a look that's quick and easy to do.
Step 1: Using a white cream face paint start off by applying it all over your face to create that bone like colour on your face. Use a sponge of your choice.
Step 2: Next start to draw the outline of where your black face paint will go. Using a white eyeliner draw a line around the socket of your eyes, a line from your temple to the top of your ear(on both sides) and draw a heart like shape around your nose.
Step 3: Then draw a line, using the white eyeliner again, from the corner of your mouth, up to your cheek and stop so the line is in line with the corner of your eye.

Step 4: Using black facepaint and the brush on the right fill in your eye socket. Keep to the line you've drawn in Step 2.
Step 5: Do the same in step 4 to fill in the nose outline.
Step 6: Using the brush to the left and the black paint go over the white line that was drawn in Step 3.

Step 7: Draw black like using the brush on the left all along your lips and the two black lines previously drawn.
Step 8: Draw small triangles on top of the black lines drawn in Step 7 to join them together.
Step 9: Using your own cheekbones trace them out using the black face paint.

Step 10: Shade in the gaps created with black.
Add more white in between the teeth, add a few shadows and you're FINISHED! Its really hard to get my point across without videoing what I am doing but if you got what I meant in that post well done! If you dont understand Click Here for the video I got this look from.

Amazing Things In Life

its no surprise that social networks and the internet has taken over everything that is amazing in life. With all teenagers obsessing over twitter or how many likes your instagram post got(myself included), its time we sit back and realise there is more to life than the latest celeb scandal.

lets get started!

Books:
Call me a nerd or whatever, but getting wrapped up in a book is so easy and its also so relaxing. Switch off your phones, laptops, tablets etc. grab a cuppa and loose yourself in a plot. Just relax and forget about the world for an hour or two.

Music:
Although this uses technology(unless you make a mixtape), music is probably the best escape from stress and anger. I know when I come home from school, listening to a few of my favourite songs definitely relaxs me before I begin my homework. So, turn up the music and dance like an idiot for a while. Music lets you express yourself and your emotions.

Nature:
Take some time away from your laptop for a while, the new episode of Pretty Little Liars can wait until it is raining. If it's a dry day, go out for a walk and take in some fresh air. Plus nature gives some amazing photos.

Friends and Family:
Last but not least is friends and family. My friends and family are definitely the number one amazing thing in my life right now. They can cheer you up and if you have friends like mine there will never be a dull moment when you's meet up.

What is the most amazing thing in your life? Let me know below.

Andrea Russett Inspired Eye-Makeup Tutorial

Updated Post HERE!
Andrea Russett, a youtuber from Indiana, has the most incredible eye makeup on the internet(in my opinion)!
Since I started watching Andrea on youtube(link) I have adored her eye makeup and after messing around with some makeup, I thought I would do a tutorial for you guys.
I just want to mention that this is just inspired its not actually how Andrea does her makeup and as she hasnt done a tutorial we don't know how she goes about doing her eyes.
Lets get started!

Step 1:
I prime my eyes using the Maybelline Baby Skin. Honesty, I feel it works better than an Eye Primer.

Step 2:
Using the two lightest colours in my Lovable Luxuries palette(from Primark) I apply them as my base colour going up as far as my crease using the first brush in the picture above. A base colour preps your eyes and makes darker colours apply easier.

Step 3:
Using the angled brush at the far end start outlining the shape of the black eyeshadow. I treat this part as if I was doing a flick as you can see above.

Step 4:
Using the angled brush again I go from the line just made and work my way half way into the crease.

Step 5:

Using the same black and the two pink brushes in the middle fill in the space that was left on the eye previous.

Step 6:
As you can see in the picture in step 5, the black is quite harsh. So I take my Real Techniques pointed foundation brush to blend it. At this point your eye should look like the above picture.

Step 7:
Add a black pencil eyeliner to your water line and a very thin liquid eyeliner line on your top lash line.

Step 8:
Add a good few coats of mascara to get Andreas long lashes. I use one coat of each mascara pictured above and the Clinique mascara is used on my lower lashes.

Finished:
Add some lipgloss and fix your eyebrows and you've got the Andrea Russett inspired Eye Makeup. This is perfect for Day or Night.

Hope that helps some of ya'll.
See you on Friday!
