Get To Know: Pia Mia Perez

Pia Mia Perez or best known Pia Mia has been around for a while but its only recently her name has been heard on Music Channels and Radios world-wide. This is all thanks to her latest single 'Do It Again' featuring Chris Brown and Tyga. Pia Mia has been branded as Kylie Jenners best friend, but I thought it was time to do a post so you's can get to know Pia Mia as an individual and not just as Kylie Jenners best friend!

Pia Mia was introduced to Chris Brown's manager and record executive Abou 'Bu' Thiam in 2013. She began working on material with producer Nic Nac and has since entered a relationship with him, including a cover of Drake's 2013 single "Hold On, We're Going Home". Later in 2013 Pia Mia's music video for Red Love, her debut single from her first extended play The Gift, was uploaded to her Vevo channel. On December 23, 2013, Pia Mia released The Gift online for free. This was later shortened and released on ITunes.

Pia Mia began working on her debut album in 2014, and as of May 2015, she has recorded over 100 songs for the album. On May 4, 2015, Pia released "Do It Again" as the lead single from her debut studio album. The song, which featured vocals from Chris Brown and Tyga, became Mia's first charting song. It has reached No. 71 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, No. 19 on the Rhythmic Songs chart and No. 70 on the Canadian Hot 100.

My Music Guilty Pleasures

It has come to my attention recently that there is a lot of different artists I love that I wouldn't be awfully proud to admit to listening to, but I am here to admit to it  and tell you guys who my guilty pressures really are.

WARNING!! Some of these may be cringey!

1/ Okay first off is my queen, Nicki Minaj. Yes you may know I love me some Nicki Minaj because I admitted it over in one of my youtube videos (link). But obviously if you didn't see the video you wouldn't have know. I dont know why I love Nicki Minaj so much but I just love everything about her. When I'm on spotify I can just listen to her albums over and over and not get bored. Nicki is such a powerful woman and I suppose that's why I love her so much.

2/ This one I cant beliebe I am about to admit.. see what I did there? Yes I am weirdly obsessed with Justin Bieber... I dont know what it is but I love listening to the Biebs. He has really catchy songs and he's so damn good looking!! Hate me all you want but Justin Bieber is fabulous.

3/ I suppose being a Chris Brown fan isnt as embarrassing as being obsessed with Justin Bieber but yeah Breezy is another one of my guilty pleasures. Again Chris Browns songs are soo good and whenever I listen to a song of his I am automatically put in a good mood.

4/ Bon Jovi is another one of my guilty pleasure and my mam is to blame for this. Mam loves Bon Jovi so I have grown up with listening to the likes of Livin On A Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name and It's My Life, so of course I am going to have a special place in my heart for them.

5/ Last but not least is Green Day... I know I have admitted to liking rock music before but I really love Green Day. My brother loved them when he was younger and I suppose thats where I got my interest in them as well. I literally love their album 21st Century Breakdown!!

School Bus Playlist

Hey Guys!

I have entered my final year of secondary school, the big Leaving Cert... Let me take a minute to actually process that.

Okay...I think I'm good. 

So now the school year is back in full swing, I am back on the dreaded tansport a.k.a the school bus, where the gossip is shared and where little old me likes to stick her headphones in and block out the rest of the world.

Teen Choice Awards

Hey Guys!

I am back blogging again after a very hectic summer. I have been here, there and everywhere this summer and I have finally found some down time to relax and type up a blog post. Between going on a road trip with my mam and my brother, the blog squad assembling again in Dundrum, having the laugh with the OGIC (a group of girls I have had the pleasure of getting to know) and nights out with my amazing friends, I just haven't found any time to sit and type until my hearts content. But don't fear because I am here to talk to you about the fashion, the rumours, the fall out and the winners of the Teen Choice Awards 2015!

The fashion.

As far as females go, Shay Mitchell a.k.a. Emily Fields from PLL slayed with her amazing outfit! just look at how amazing she looked:

The one thing that annoyed me scrolling through Twitter last night was the hate Nash Grier got because of his outfit. It's times like this that I can't stand social media because Nash looked bomb in his double denim. Seeing people make fun of him and hearing the rumours he left because people were making fun of him killed me.

Nash rocked that double denim and pulled his outfit off better than anyone could and that is why I think he was the best dressed male at the show. Just look:

The Janoskians didn't fail to have a laugh and a joke around with their full body painted tuxedos. They looked amazing and I couldn't stop laughing. Those boys are so original, I just love it!

Performances

5SOS may not have won any awards but they sure did put on an amazing show performing their new single She's Kinda Hot and Luke Hemmings looked kinda hot... No he looked beyond hot! There is no words to describe how perfect that boy is.

Flo Rida had everyone on their feet and singing along to his new song I Don't Like It, I Love It. He is such and amazing performer and its such and amazing song.

The Winners... or were they?

There was two categories in particular that sent my twitter timeline into a frenzy and that was Choice Web Star: Music (#ChoiceWebStarMusic) and Choice Web Star: Comedy (#ChoiceWebStarComedy).

The Choice Web Star Music went to none other than the incredibly talented Shawn Mendes who I am extremely proud of. It must have been hard though for the Jacks and Shawn to go head to head as they're are friends after all, but was he really the winner? According to Twitter that does seem to be the case. Apparently the voting was rigged and Jack and Jack should have won.

As you can see here and below:

People went on to a website called Topsy which can tell you how many tweets a certain hashtag got in comparison to another hashtag. As you can see the hashtag for Jack and Jack had nearly 10,000 more tweets than Shawns hashtag! Does this mean the votes were rigged and Jack and Jack should have won?

Don't get me wrong I am so happy for Shawn and I love both him and the Jacks and I would have been happy for either of them but a vote is a vote and the proof is in the hashtag.

The second category was between Miranda Sings and the Janoskians. Was this another rigged vote? Again, it was searched on the website Topsy and the Janoskians won by a milestone... But wait, they didnt get the TCA surfboard? See it here and below:

Maybe the awards was rigged but there's not much we can do about it now.

Debs 2015 and my First Youtube Video.

Hey Guys!

So on Wednesday I went to my first Debs with a few of my friends. The Leaving Certs were ever so kind to invite the 5th years along to their Debs and after twisting my mams arm I was finally allowed to go. OH MY GOD IT WAS AMAZING!!

I headed into town at about 4 o'clock and met up with Helen and Angelica who both looked amazing in their dresses and we got a few pictures taken (seen below).

After all the pictures and chatting to a few people it was time to crowd onto the bus and begin of journey to Carrick-On-Shannon (a.k.a. me and mums favourite place). We were having a meal in the Landmark hotel which was actually quite exciting for me. I have literally ate in every place in Carrick apart from the Landmark. We all had a laugh with each other and I literally could not ask for a better night.

After the meal and a few awards been handed out to the Laving Certs it was time to head into the nightclub. This is when the real party started. I had such an amazing time and I could not have asked for better people to be around that night, the laughing was never ending.

Anyway we headed home at about 3am and I was soooooooooo damn happy to see my bed!!!

Okay so here's the best part of this blog post... MY FIRST EVER YOUTUBE VIDEO!! What?!

I cannot believe I have finally ventured into the world of Youtube and I am super excited to do so. It took a lot of consideration to start this as I have received negative comments towards my blogging in the past but I feel I am a stronger person now. So here it goes; Video editing and writing is definitely the path I want to take when I head off to college and I feel this will help me towards my future career. I have such a passion for editing videos and just editorial work in particular. I am aware there may be comments whether they be positive or negative but I feel I can take them head on and continue doing what I love for me!

What is your favourite type of youtube video to watch?

Exercises For The Summer Months

Hey Guys!

So since the summer months have kicked in I've been getting back into my fitness, as I now have the time to do so. So I thought I would show you guys some of my favourite exercises for toning up and of those jiggly bits!!

Obviously cardio is like a major detail you cant leave out of a workout. I like to go for a walk/jog 3-5 times a week and I only go for a half an hour. You can swim or cycle also. 

Then when I come home I get straight into the toning, so here is the list of what I do:

1/ Squats with Dumbbells

Basically use dumbbells with a weight of 8-10 pounds in each hand and squat as usual. I do this 15-20 time for 3 reps.

2/ Donkey Kicks
Start on all fours. Keep your right knee on the ground and slowly lift your leg off the floor and towards the ceiling. Hold for one count and return to your starting position. I normally do 18-20 donkey kicks on each leg for one rep.

3/ Pilé
This move isn't just for ballerinas. Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart. The just squat and hold for 2-3 counts. I do 15-20 of these for one rep.

4/ Standard Crunch
Lie on your back with your legs slightly bent, feet on the floor and arms crossed over your chest. Then lift your shoulder blades off the ground. I do 20 crunches for one rep.

5/ Cross Mountain Climbers
Begin in a pushup position and bring your left leg over to the right and twist your body with your leg. I do 15 for one rep.

Honestly it doesnt look like I do a lot but it works wonders!

New Songs I am Loving

Hey Guys!

I've been lacking in the blogging department recently and honestly I just haven't been bothered to get back into it. But today is a new day, I am finally motivated to do plenty of things and getting back into blogging is definitely one of them!!

So of course I am back with a music post and while I was gone plenty of new songs have surfaced. I am going to give you guys my top 10 new songs of right now.

10/ Walk The Moon- Shut Up and Dance

I came across this song while flicking through the music channels and I thought the music video was super weird. I flicked past but now, as I listen to the song more and more, I am falling in love with it. It has an indie kind of tune to it, which I love of course, and it is quite a fun song.

9/ Rita Ora- Poison

Rita Ora is just amazing and I love her so much. Since watching her on the Voice UK I have grown a keen interest on Miss Ora and her music. She's just so fun! This song is quite a dark song, but you know it is wrote from the heart and I love it.

8/ Ciara- I Bet

I've never been a fan of Ciara but I do really like this song. Again, like Poison, this song is a song wrote from the heart and I just love how honest it is. 

7/ Hilary Duff- Sparks 

Growing up Hilary Duff was my everything. I loved her in Lizzie McGuire and I wanted to be her in the Lizzie McGuire Movie. When I heard Hilary was making her way back into the music industry I was over the moon. Having bought all her singles and albums when I was younger, I'm sure you can just imagine how happy I was when this song popped up on the music channels. 

6/ Nicki Minaj- The Night Is Still Young

I am secretly obsessed with Nicki Minaj! I love all her music and I even have a secret jam out to The Pink Print when nobody is home.  The night is still young is my favourite song from the album.

5/ Jessie J- Flashlight

I had the privilege of getting to see Pitch Perfect 2 on Friday and I am in love with this song from the movie. Not going to lie, I prefer the Bellas version to Jessies but of course that is just my opinion.

4/ Shaggy- I Need Your Love feat. Mohombi, Faydee, Costi

I heard this on my local radio station and the fact Faydee is in made me way too excited. I found Faydee 3/4 years ago through the Janoskians and I have followed his music career ever since. I love this song and it is perfect for summer.

3/ Nathan Sykes- Kiss Me Quick

NATHAN!! Anybody who knows me, knows I used to love The Wanted so damn much. I met them, bought all their albums and seen them in concert a few times. Nathan was always my favourite and I am so proud of him to be going solo. This guy has a serious voice and I can see him doing very well.

2/ Little Mix- Black Magic

I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Little Mix. I do however, like their music and I wouldnt change the channel when they come on. Black Magic is a very catchy song and I just love the video.

1/ Charlie Puth- Marvin Gaye feat. Meghan Trainor

Charlie Puth is definitely one to watch out for. I, myself love him and his style of music and Marvin Gaye was the perfect second release after his smash hit first single, See You Again. Keep your eyes open for Charlie Puth.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara Review

 Hello Again!
I am back with a review of the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (€22 on Debenhams). I first got this product when I bought the Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette. I instantly fell in love with the thickness and length it gave my eyelashes. When I ran out of the 6mls, 6 months after purchasing it, I decided it was time to repurchase and get the full size this time. When it arrived I fell in love with the packaging and of course the product itself. This mascara is so smooth with no clumps and you can apply as many coats as you wish without it getting clumpy.
The picture above really does not give the size of the product justice. It is a very thick tube and was definitely much bigger than I thought it was going to be. The full size (12mls) is €22 on Debenhams and the travel size is €10. In my personal opinion the travel size is definitely worth picking up as I thought months was a decent amount of time for a mascara of that size to last.
As you can see below the Mascara not only lengthens but it also thickens the eyelashes leaving a clump free finish. 1 coat should be enough for a natural look but if you like your eyelashes slightly thicker 2 coats would definitely be perfect for you.
This is a mascara I would definitely repurchase over and over again. All of the Urban Decay product I own haven't disappointed me as of yet and I am continually growing to love the brand more and more after a purchase!

What's On My Phone Tag

I have been wanting to this post for quite a while and I have never got around to doing it. I love reading these posts and finding out new apps that other people are loving. I don't want to keep going on so let us just get started.

Lockscreen

My lockscreen is of me and my friends on a night out two weeks ago! I love this photo way too much that it just had to be my lockscreen. Normally Shawn Mendes or Luke Hemmings would have been the first thing I see when I open my phone but I am so in love with this photo that the boys had to go... for a little while.

My home page is still the same lay out it was when I first got my phone. Camera is definitely the most used app on this page because me and my friends gots to get a few selfies together...When I say a few I mean A LOT!!

This page has all my social media apps; Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat and yes a New Holland Tractor bookmark (my friends personal touch). I even have Bebo even though I haven't opened the app since I got. 

Photography Folder

This is basically the apps I use to edit my photos for Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. VSCOcam is definitely my favourite so if you love a good editing app, I would defo suggest downloading it for Free in the App Store. Generate is my second favourite because there is a 3D effect, which is also free in the App Store.  

Third Page

 This basically has all of my folders and google earth. I also have the Spin 1038 app because Spin is like my favourite radio station and because I live in the west of Ireland I can't get Spin and the only other way I can listen to it, is with the app.

 My first folder is the Arcade folder, which basically just has my game and you can see above what they are. Charades had become a favourite in school, me and my friends are always playing it in Study on a Thursday.

 My Lifestyle folder just has my shopping apps. They come in handy for retail therapy.

 As you can tell, I am a big lover of music so that is why I have so many different music apps. For anyone that wants free music wherever the go and dont have the money to pay for Spotify, Audio Tube is perfect!

Also I am a big food lover, so I need my Nando's and Apache Pizza app on hand  to order some food when I'm near a Nando's or Apache pizza.

Well guys that is all that is on my phone.

New Albums For You!

Hello again!
It has been over 3 weeks since I last posted and I am sooo sorry for my unscheduled blogging break, but I am back. Between school, a broken laptop and going here and there I haven' had the time to sit down and write a few blog posts. So long story short, I'm going to back on my blogging A-Game.

Anyway, since I've been away I've been listening to a few new songs/albums and I thought I'd show you guys some if my favourite albums at the moment.

All Time Low- Future Hearts

I have been really loving this album at the moment because it's my fave boys. Kids In The Dark or Satellite are my most listened to songs off of the album but of course I love all the sings equally.

Meghan Trainor- Title

I just love this girl! I feel Meghan is very bubblegum pop and its so unique in this day and age. When you first listen to the album Meghan ails to disappoint and I just love every song but Dear Future Husband is by far my favourite.

Fall Out Boy- American Beauty/American Psycho

I remember listening to FOB back in 2007, of course it was my brothers influence and I've listened to their songs here and there since then. Their new album is just asdfghjkl... Just wish I could see them in Dublin in October :(

Shawn Mendes- Handwritten

It amazes me that I wrote about Shawn just over a year ago and now he has an album? At 16 years of age, Shawn is definitely climbing the celebrity ladder way too fast and I need him to slow down so  he can still be my little secret. His album is amazing and I just fall in love with him over and over when he begins singing. Shawn Mendes is definitely one to watch out for guys!

Skate- Twenty Fifteen

I blogger about Skate a few weeks/months back and now he has released his own album/mixtape. It is called Twenty Fifteen and I honestly think 2015 is going to be the year for Skate and I hope big things happen for him because I love his music and he never fails to deliver a good song.

Day 6 of 5H week and the last day! Today it is all about the baby of the group, Dinah-Jane. Today I am going to show you how to achieve Dinah-Jane’s Makeup and give you guys some outfit inspiration too. Let’s get started.

The Makeup

Step 1:

The same as previous posts.

Step 2:

For this look I just added a simple deep brown colour to the corners of my eyes with the Real Techniques Crease Brush. The eye shadow I used was a loose powder from the Fuischa makeup I got while on Work Experience.

Step 3:

I then used the brush pictured above to add a slight black eyeshadow in a ‘C’ shape on the outer corner of my eye.

Step 4:

Then I lined my tight line and waterline with black eye shadow with an angled brush.

Step 5:

Finally I just applied 3-4 coats of the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara to add some length to my eyelashes. You can also use a eyelash curler if you prefer.

Day 5 of 5H week and today it is all about Ally Brooke. To see the last three days of Makeup and Outfit tutorials just click here, here and here. But today I am going to show you how to achieve Ally’s Makeup and give you guys some outfit inspiration too. Let’s get started.

The Makeup

Step 1:

Same as previous tutorials.

Step 2:

This look is actually what Ally wore to the Grammys but it’s such a versatile makeup look that you can wear it day or night. For the eyes I used my Elf Baked Eye Shadow Palette and used the Gold colour and applied it all over my lid and under my waterline also.

Step 3:

Then I used an angled brush and black eye shadow and applied that to my tight line and my waterline.

Step 4:

Finally I just applied 3-4 coats of the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara to add some length to my eyelashes. You can also use a eyelash curler if you prefer.

The End Result

Although Ally has a light pink lip in the picture above, I applied a red lip as it matched my outfit this day. The lipstick I have on in the photos above is the Rimmel Provocalips in Play With Fire.
